Church Covenant

Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our personal Savior, and on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do now in the presence of God and Angels, most solemnly enter into covenant with one another, as one body in Christ.

We resolve, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to strengthen within our personal lives those habits of daily prayer and the study of God’s Word, which will enable us to grow in our love for the Lord Jesus Christ.

We solemnly Covenant to walk together in Christian love; to remember each other in prayer; to aid each other in sickness and distress; to put away from us all bitterness, wrath, anger, evil speaking, and to be kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake has forgiven us.

We strive to maintain family and personal devotions; to instruct our children in the Christian faith, to prayerfully seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances, and walk in purity and honesty before the world at such time as to bring no reproach upon the name of the One who loved us and bought us with His precious blood.

We also Covenant, God helping us, to strive for the advancement of this church in knowledge, holiness and comfort, to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its worship, ordinances, disciplines and doctrines, to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of its ministry, and the spread of the Gospel among all nations.

As we have been saved only through the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, we Covenant, by God’s help, to follow Him and to honor Him in all things.
